Frequently asked questions

  • Starting therapy can feel uncertain and overwhelming, but you're not alone. We highly recommend booking an initial consultation call to help determine what you are looking for and if we are the right fit. Together, we'll explore what support might look like for you.

  • Therapy is a collaborative process where we explore emotions, patterns, and experiences at your pace — like a road trip where you are in the driver’s seat and I’m the passenger to support you along the way. While talking is a key part, it’s also about deepening insight, building tools, and fostering meaningful change. We might incorporate techniques outside of talk therapy, such as mindfulness, breathing exercises, and other activities.

Each process is individualized and tailored to your goals and needs. We will check in from time to time to ensure therapy continues to feel supportive, relevant, and aligned with what matters most to you.

  • Therapy offers a confidential, non-judgmental space with a professional who is there to support you. Therapists are trained to ask intentional, thoughtful questions that help you reflect and process your emotions and experiences. Aside from that, we also pay close attention to your body language, shifts in emotions and affect, and other details that might help us understand what else is happening in the moment.

This might be different from talking to friends and family because of your relationship with them and their emotional stakes in your life. Therapists prioritize your well-being and maintain clear professional boundaries. This is a space just for you, focused entirely on your growth, healing, and goals.

  • Counselling services may be eligible for extended health benefit coverage depending on your plan and provider. Once I obtain my RCC license, you will be able to check with your provider to see whether this is being covered under your plan.

  • We will conduct our sessions via Jane, a booking software that is PIPA compliant. Prior to our session, you will receive a secure link from Jane, then we will connect virtually through the meeting link.

  • At this time, I do not offer in person sessions. However, if that option becomes available, I will let my clients know and provide that as an option.

  • Your sessions will be billed via the credit card you have on file on your Jane account. Please ensure your credit card is valid. We will also accept e-transfer payments 24 hours prior to our session or at the beginning of our session. For more information on e-transfer payments, you can reach out to us directly for more details. We do not accept cash or cheque.

  • We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or make changes to our appointment, please do so 48 hours in advance. Your time is reserved for you, this way we can open up the time for another client. If you need to cancel within the 48 hour window, a no show fee may apply.
